We can call this week a success if we base it strictly on the fact that my measly Thanksgiving weight gain is now a thing of the past and I saw 164 on the scale this week (I've got pizza belly right now, but that's for later in the discussion).
To recap, this past week I have been house sitting. In an attempt to not find myself swinging by a fast food establishment every evening after work I tried to make my menu simple. I also needed to get the taste of fried green tomatoes out of my memory from a week back home in Kentucky. Here's how the week went in itemized fashion:
Monday
Breakfast: Odwalla Protein Monster + Banana
Lunch: Tasty restaurant grilled chicken bomb and fries! (naughty!)
Dinner: Romaine salad with apples and mozzarella
Tuesday (Lowest Caloric Intake Day. Not a very good day.)
Breakfast: Odwalla Protein Monster + Banana (are we seeing a pattern?)
Lunch: WW Smart One's
Dinner: Progresso Low Sodium Minestrone and a glass of milk.
Workout: 25 Minutes Elliptical
Wednesday
Breakfast: Odwalla Protein Monster
Lunch: Wendy's!!! Spicy Chicken Sandwich NO MAYO & Medium Fries (drool). No soda though.
Dinner: Healthy Choice Meal
Workout: 25 Minutes Elliptical
Thursday
Breakfast: Odwalla Protein Monster + Banana
Lunch: A repeat of Monday. Grilled chicken bomb and fries :)
Dinner: Yoplait Light Very Cherry (I know. I know!).
Friday
Breakfast: Dunkin Donuts! Egg & Cheese Wrap and Hash Browns which is a surprisingly low 380 calories, essentially the same as a Protein Monster and a banana together... except the latter doesn't start its life deep fried.
Lunch: WW Smart One's
Dinner: PIZZA!!! A tactful 1.75 pieces.
According to my little MyFitnessPal I didn't do too terribly as far as nutrition. For the week, which isn't over yet since I do have a weekend to live through, it looks like I'm only overly consuming sugar which is a direct result to mowing down on the Protein Monsters. That's probably why they taste so good. But I don't sit around and eat candy (usually) so I'm not terribly worried about that.
I've been pretty spot on for fiber and protein... even with eating Wendy's I'm still well within my suggested allotment of fat grams! Not too terrible. And even with the frozen meals and soup I'm doing well on sodium. Well. Until the pizza. But it was GOOD! I've got this pound hanging on me from that but nothing a little H20 won't cure. After all... what's the best part about cooking for yourself? When you, every so often, get to eat with someone else!
I'm pleased with my steadfastness. It would have been easy to order a pizza on Monday and just graze on it over the course of the week. My dinner date with my coworker fell through since everyone around me is getting sick! So that probably saved me some calories too, albeit tasty, tasty calories.
Tomorrow I will outline NEXT WEEK'S TOPIC: Cooking for one when leftovers turn your stomach. Can I make leftovers turn my head instead?
