I WEIGHED 141.0 lbs THIS MORNING!!!!!
It's so depressing that this excites me.
I'm so excited to have something to be excited about.
I've made a few conscious decisions this week and my handsome gentleman made some conscious decisions for me (us) that really helped. The first, I haven't had a beer since last Sunday. The next, I rarely ate out. HG and I had takeout on Thursday night and we split a salad and a grilled chicken with vegetables dish. He also didn't bring any more beer in the house (he's trying to eat better too) so Friday night we split a glass of wine and I revived my recipe for Shrimp and Artichokes with Wild Rice.
This time I added Brussels sprouts and baby bella mushrooms. Of course, when you're handsome gentleman is as hungry as mine, you might want to add another package of rice to the mix. He wants me to try it with linguine sometime.
Friday night I also did my next Chalean workout. Yesterday it was practically 50 degrees (in New Hampshire... on December 21st) so I went for a run. I wanted to run far, but unfortunately the warmer weather plus the fact that we got something like 15 inches of snow last week resulted in crazy puddles and every other person in my city decided to not clear their part of the sidewalk. Made a couple troublesome fights with traffic, but I still kept a 10 and a half minute mile pace despite all of that. It was nice to get out and run. I hadn't ran since December 6th since it's been below zero out and all the snow.
It makes me want to join a gym just to use a treadmill.
I wonder if HG would let me put a treadmill in his basement...
Hint. Hint.
This morning I had some time to myself so I finished up the third week of Chalean Extreme Burn Phase. Just three more workouts and I can move on to the Push Phase. I much prefer the Push Phase because it's less reps, but heavier weights. I also didn't finish the Push Phase last time because of Half Marathon training, so I'm looking forward to seeing it through to the end.
I also made myself some delicious new pancakes! Let's call them Honey Almond Pancakes. It makes more pancakes than usual and I'm really not sure why. I think the honey might thin out the batter. So it made 10 pancakes. I ate 4 of them, which isn't quite 300 calories, but I topped it with 1/2 Tbsp of powdered sugar so that made it 300. Here's what you need.
120 grams of Bisquick Heart Healthy
1 egg white
2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 Tbsp honey
11 grams of sliced almonds
Mix together all ingredients except for the almonds. Pour batter onto a heated griddle and sprinkle with some sliced almonds. Cook the way you would normally cook pancakes.
I literally said "Oh my god..." when I took the first bite...
If you don't like nuts in your pancakes, you could definitely leave them out. I ended up running out of almonds, so I made the last two without them. The extract really adds some flavor to them, so next time I might leave the nuts out all together. Delicious.
Yesterday with my running and my eating I did such a good job. I even made myself a sweet snack that was lower in calories than constantly measuring out servings of chips and pretending that that makes it okay. I made a Cookies and Cream Almond Milk Shake!
1 frozen banana
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 Oreo cookies
Before you start, take the Oreos apart. Leave the cream on one side and set that aside. The other three sides, throw in your blender to pulverize, then pour into another bowl.
Slice up the frozen banana and add that to the blender. Add milk and 2/3 of your Oreo powder. Blend until smooth. Top with remaining Oreo powder and that reserved Oreo half. ENJOY!
Delicious.
This week is going to be awesome. I know I'm going to have plenty of time to work out and eat right. I only work tomorrow and then I'm off the rest of the week. It's supposed to get cold... so I might not be able to run much, but I'm going to try to be active and eat right (and stay out of the holiday treats to a point).
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas! Hopefully I'll have some good things to report for Week 7. New Years Eve plans are booked, so that hot dress isn't going to look hot all by itself...
